1.   AIMING HIGH REACHING THERE

After formation of company in July’02, the largest ever system expansion & up gradation programme has been taken up in Transmission Sector of Madhya Pradesh.  Strategies were accordingly formed, drawing on the rich past techno-commercial experience and implemented with precision.  With meticulous procurement and implementation planning, substantial cost and time savings have been achieved so much so that completion of all works under ADB and NABARD funding, could be pushed ahead of schedule by almost one and half year.  Thus the company successfully broke the myth that in Indian context cost and time overrun are inevitable in projects under State Sector.

2.  THE TRANSMISSION LINES

           In the five year block of 1997-98 to 2001-02 while only 1273 Ckt. Kms. Transmission lines were added, in about half of that period i.e. from April’02 to Dec.’04, 2049 ckt. Kms. have already been added.  Average annual work done post formation of Company, on this front is about three times that of the immediate proceedings time block.  The graphical representation hereunder depicts annual progress:-

3.  THE TRANSFORMATION CAPACITY

 In the five year block of 1997-98 to 2001-02, while barely 2049 MVA capacity was added; in half of that period from i.e. April’02 to Dec.’04, 5024 MVA capacity has been added.  Average capacity addition on an annual basis is more than four times that of the immediate preceding time block.  A graph hereunder depicts the year-to-year progress.
